lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. I will
praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes
always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
- Psalm 16:5-8

Hazel Matlack, MA
Counselor

Hazel and her husband were mere children when they sailed to Italy with their baby girl in 1967 where they spent 16 years church planting. They returned to the States and some years later when she was a grandmother, she earned a master’s degree in Christian Counseling from Cairn University (then PBU).

She is blessed to have 20 years of counseling experience with married couples and women.  She has the most fun with pre-marital couples – helping them learn to love well through communication skills, conflict resolution, healthy intimacy, spiritual growth, and more.

When she is not counseling, she is a wife, a mother of three and their spouses, and a grandmother of nine.  Some of her family lives half a mile away, some 25 miles away and others live 7,500 miles away.  She loves to cook and bake and get dirt under her nails in her garden. Hazel serves on the board of a non-profit organization and makes fleece blankets for a local pregnancy center.

In my counseling I share what God has taught me through education, his Word, and my own life experiences. I am humbled to carry in my heart the hundreds of stories entrusted to me. I do what I do because:

'I, the LORD, have called you…; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you…a light…to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.'
- Isaiah 42:6-7
